Kim McOwan, Director of Interior Design
Maintaining a firm belief that inspired design elevates the way people feel, Kim McOwan, Interior Design Director of Charette Interior Design, Ltd., approaches each project with that premise in mind. With a Certificate in Interior and Environmental Design from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Ms. McOwan intertwines the two areas of expertise to form the foundation of our design process.
Her design career started under the guidance and mentorship of design giants, Sally Sirkin Lewis and Rose Tarlow, at their respective Los Angeles showrooms. After achieving her design certification from UCLA, Ms. McOwan continued to develop as a designer while working for a number of high profile firms such as SFA Design, Walt Disney Imagineering, Ellerbe Becket Architecture and Sony Pictures Entertainment. Designing highly diverse project types throughout her career, she cultivated a unique aesthetic sensibility and design perspective in addition to an accrued wealth of knowledge regarding luxury furnishings, custom building materials and the arts.
In combining the mastery achieved through her design accomplishments with her initial studies in the field of psychology, Ms. McOwan has fostered the ability to create distinct environments that truly resonate with each individual client.
